  • Jad Al-Said Women’s Initiative Holds Psychosocial Support Sessions for Displaced Women in East Darfur

East Darfur, Sudan | August 2026

The Jad Al-Said Women’s Initiative (JSFI), in partnership with the Al-Numoo Organization for Peace and Development (NOPD), organized psychosocial support sessions for displaced women in East Darfur, Sudan, as part of ongoing efforts to promote mental well-being and support women affected by the conflict.

The sessions come amid the continuing war and its devastating humanitarian consequences, which have left many women facing displacement, fear, trauma, and profound psychological distress.

The initiative aims to provide a safe and supportive space where women can openly express their experiences and emotions, receive psychosocial support, rebuild self-confidence, restore hope, and strengthen their resilience and ability to cope with the challenging circumstances they continue to face.

JSFI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women and girls in conflict-affected communities through community-based initiatives and partnerships that respond to their psychosocial needs and contribute to strengthening social cohesion and community resilience.
